Uruguay Duck Hunting

Congratulations on taking the next step toward going hunting in Uruguay.  Maybe you have already experienced Argentina duck hunting, or maybe this is your first time contemplating a Uruguay wingshooting trip.  Either way, you will be spoiled for choice…both of these countries arguably offer some of the best duck hunting in the world, and for a third, or even half the price of some of the more expensive waterfowl hunting destinations elsewhere (compare to: Mexico, Canada, Denmark, and New Zealand).  While all of these are top-notch duck hunting environments, we recommend the trips to South America because they truly offer more shooting for the money.

Wingshooting in Uruguay

Duck hunting in Uruguay got off to a hot start a few years ago when leading Argentina dove hunting, and waterfowl hunting outfitter, Los Gauchos Outfitters, set out to make hunting in Uruguay one of its major bird hunting concessions.  Once we found out that the Uruguay hunting was every bit as spectacular as the Argentina duck hunting, we knew that it would be an instant favorite with our clients; after all, our first South American hunting operation was a waterfowl hunting lodge in Argentina, and our clients who had visited us there were more than ready to join us for Uruguay duck hunting once we made it a reality.  Our customers only had one request: they wanted the fields to be close to the lodge, instead of having to drive for a hour to get to the duck and goose hunting fields.  We concurred, and that is why we chose a private estancia located right in the middle of the duck marsh.  Los Gauchos conducted an expansive evaluation of the facility in 2007 and sold out the first season. 

Now the “Uruguay Duck Hunting Club” is firing on all cylinders, playing host to over one hundred and fifty guests per season.  Duck hunting in Uruguay represents some of the best hunting in Uruguay; you must see it to believe it, and there is no better place to do it than with Los Gauchos Outfitters in the country of Uruguay.  We are located near some of the largest duck roosting lakes in the entire country, and the birds are completely wild and complete strangers to gunfire.  The birds have never developed a fear of man, and birds are often landing in the decoys while we are picking them up and putting them out.  This might sound like a “fish story” or a “tall tale”, but those who have experienced Argentina duck hunting and any kind of wingshooting in Uruguay will testify that it is all true.
