When Is The Hunting Season?

The Uruguay Duck hunting season begins May 1st and runs throughout the summer (winter here in Uruguay), concluding on September 15th.  When is the best time to go?  This is without a doubt, the number one question that our hunters ask every time they call…The best duck hunting Uruguay has to offer lasts all season long!

We know that you might find this hard to believe, but it is true! The only consideration that one should give to the migration is the fact that the big ducks (Pintails and Rosybill Pochards) migrate in later in the season than the teal, so the early part of the season will be mostly teal shooting.

How about the doves and pigeons?  The doves and pigeons do not migrate, making Uruguay dove hunting excellent throughout the year.  One can expect to shoot thousands of round per day on these crop destroying pests that have been labeled a plague by the Uruguayan government—it’s open season, and NO LIMIT.

Some of the best Uruguay hunting of all is the Perdiz hunting, and it is governed by a season, with strict limits imposed on the number of birds one can take—the daily limit per hunter, per day, is ten.
